Settling In
Casey and I have been spending a lot of our time settling into our new home. It is the first home of our very own – neither one of us have ever owned a house before, so it is extremely exciting. I love this home even more than I did when we first looked at it, if that is even possible. We were really excited right after we looked at it because it was everything we had wanted and more, and was well within our price range. It seemed almost too good to be true. I know it probably sounds strange, but I think homes have different personalities. It's been nice to take the time to acquaint myself with our new home. We haven't completely decided what "theme" we are going to go with, but it's nice to dream. I love picking things out, and I just like things to be warm and cozy.
Now that we are finally in the home, it’s even better than I imagined it would be. It’s very open, and I love that I can be in the kitchen but also talk to people who are in the living room. The kitchen is big and has enough room in it for Casey and I to be in there together without bumping into each other. I thought it was going to be smaller than it actually is, but to our surprise, it’s actually bigger than we initially thought, which is nice. Guinness even has his place sitting on the stool next to the island while I am cooking and/or cleaning. He still follows me like a shadow wherever I go. Sam has two rugs, one in front of the fireplace which has become his spot, and one in our bedroom. We have been leaving him free to roam the house each day while we are at work, and he seems just as happy as ever. Now I’m just anxious to get our fence built for our horses, and the chicken coop built for the chickens. I miss having them around.
