When I was little, one of my favorite movies was
Milo and Otis. Of course I loved pretty much any animal movie, but I always thought it was cute how the dog and the cat were so close. And yes, I know it is a fictional story. Dogs and cats generally do not get along...and this was true in our case. Sam
hates cats. Hates, hates, hates them! So I have no idea how he and Guinness not only tolerate each other; they have become best buds. I think this is because Guinness has never been around other cats; he has only ever known dogs. Therefore, he plays like a dog, sits like a dog, goes out with the dog, comes in with the dog, etc. Since Guinness has taken a particular interest in the chickens lately, I do not let him out when they are out...and since the horses kicked yet another hole in the chicken coop this weekend...I couldn't let Guinness out that morning. In an effort not to let him feel left out, I decided he could come along for a car ride with Sam and I while we ran a few errands. Guinness
loves car rides. I know. I'm serious about him thinking he's a dog...he probably thinks he's just a very agile one...
They both shared the front seat together...
And then, since Guinness knows not to mess with the chickens in front of us, I finally let him out while we were doing yard work...so he could supervise, of course.
And wherever Sam was, Guinness was...most of the time.
When I showed these pictures to Casey, he laughed and said, "It's Milo and Otis Part II..."
