Good Morning, Turkeys!

I really wish I had a photo of this because most people wouldn't believe it.  My parents have been out of town and are coming back tomorrow, so I have been taking care of all of the critters while they have been gone.  Their critters, however, are wild, and range from many different types of birds, to deer, raccoons, opossums, rabbits, squirrels chipmunks, the occasional cameo appearance of Charles, the woodchuck, and turkeys.

This morning I have been feeling somewhat jumpy since I watched the Mothman Prophecies last night.  As I went out to feed the birds this morning (still attempting to field my way out of my morning daze) a huge commotion ensued with giant black wings and feathers scattering everywhere.  In the first millisecond of this experience I was thoroughly convinced I had just witnessed the Mothman.  I screamed bloody murder, dropped the bucket of birdseed, ran inside, and turned around to see a turkey flying away.  Yep, a turkey was on the ledge of my parents deck.  And I ran from it.  It's not the first turkey I have run from, I must admit.  (I was chased by a turkey once).  But I don't know who was more scared...me or the turkey.

I looked online to give you an idea of what the Mothman (in my clearly over sized imagination) looks like, and for kicks, set it next to a turkey.  Similar?  I think probably not so much.  My only regret is my dad was not there to laugh at me...
