My Favorite Book

This book is very special to me.  It was given to me on my 18th birthday, and has gotten me through life's many ups and downs.  If you haven't ever read it, please do.  It has a little bit of something for everyone and offers an earthy and wise perspective that I believe rings true to many people no matter what their religious or cultural background tends to be.  This book taught me to look inside of myself, how to embrace difficult times in life rather than to resist them.  In doing that, I am learning that good and bad are one in the same; it's how you choose to deal with it that counts.  The book is not long, and some of the chapters can be read in less than five minutes.

My mom and I were recently out to eat, and I was talking to her about something.  She looked at me, lovingly, as mothers often do, and said, "Think about this, Jenny.  What would you learn if life was easy all of the time?  You wouldn't really learn anything, would you?"  Without thinking, I replied, "No, but I sure would sleep a lot better at night..."  Then we both laughed.  Mothers are very special creatures.  If you see  your mom anytime soon, make sure you give her a big hug and let her know how much you love and appreciate her.  :)  Have a great day, everyone!
